James is Head of English in a thriving London secondary school. Teaching across all three secondary key stages, James has played a major role in helping to develop an innovative and successful English department. James is the ‘Education Partner’ supporting The Worst Kept Secret by leading the development of courses for academic establishments, teachers and students.
James was always keen to have a role in education. He graduated from Roehampton University with a degree in Education Studies and French. He first worked in a number of different fields gaining valuable experience including communications, graphic design, promotions, recruitment and overseas teaching before pursuing his chosen career in education in the UK. Over the past six years he has consistently ensured high attainment and delivered results above the national average across the key stages in English.
James’ aim in teaching is to use innovative techniques wherever possible and bring enjoyment back in to studying English. He helped to deliver ‘Social Media Fundamentals’ for TWKS – the UK’s first social media course for GCSE students. This ground-breaking program was success in helping to improve students’ grades and gained substantial media attention. After this success, James has been intrigued by the potential of social media and the new GCSE syllabus’ that are connected with an understanding of this new medium. By supporting TWKS, James hopes to continue developing innovative ways in which to deliver strong results in English and other subjects.
